This method, which is not well known in Turkey and has been implemented in the last few years, is widely used in Germany and the United States, especially in centers where there are spas and health cures.
Ozone is located in the ozonosphere layer 25-30 km above the world and prevents harmful ultraviolet rays from reaching the world. There is no life on earth without ozone. The world’s atmosphere is polluted with exhaust gases, fuels used at home, etc. Foreign gases enter the composition of the ozone in the atmosphere. For this reason, the ozone in the atmosphere and the ozone used in treatment are different from each other. Three-atom (03) oxygen-ozone is formed from medical oxygen by electronic discharges. Since ozone has a very high oxidation power, it is defined as “active oxygen” in medicine.
We can call the ozone used in treatment the fuel of your cells in our body due to its high energy. We can describe the activated oxygen given to our body as the support aid given to our sick organisms. Medical ozone consists of a mixture of 5% ozone and 95% oxygen.
The effect of ozone on metabolism varies depending on its concentration and the dose used. For example; ozone with a concentration of 70-100 mg/ml disrupts the oxidative effects of microorganisms in the treatment of infected wounds and reveals them. Medium doses of ozone (40-70mg/ml) have a preventive effect on the activation of microorganisms. Low doses between (40-1mg/ml) are used especially in circulatory disorders in the elderly.
Application is made in three ways.
Heel application (bagging method)
Hands and feet are moistened by placing them in a special bag and the method is applied by allowing the skin to absorb ozone. It can be applied 2-3 sessions per week. Each session is 30 minutes. It is applied in open wounds on hands and feet, calcifications, asthma, diabetes and circulatory disorders.
Small circulation method
5 ml of blood is taken from the vein, mixed with ozone and given back from the hip. It should be preferred in viral diseases and chronic jaundice. It is applied once a week.
Large circulation method
250 ml of blood is taken from the vein, mixed with ozone, and slowly given back to the vein. It is applied in cases requiring high concentration such as performance enhancement in cancer patients and athletes.
Ozone therapy is applied by means of an oxygen and ozone device connected to it. The patient does not enter a closed system, therefore it is a treatment method that is easily applied and does not disturb the patient. In Turkey, the bagging method should generally be preferred by patients. Since there is no blood collection from the patient in this method and the patient does not want to feel pain and ache during the treatment, it is the reason for selection.
The application area of ozone therapy is very wide. People who do not have any complaints can also receive ozone. Since it strengthens the immune system and increases the oxygenation of cells, it delays aging and makes people strong against diseases. For this reason, it is recommended that people who do not have any health problems receive ozone 10 sessions a year. Apart from this, it is possible to close all wounds and ulcers opened on the feet and legs of diabetics with ozone therapy.
